Mallu College Girls Ethnic Day Photos

Our College life is not like your ‘good ol’ evergreen days’. Our lifestyle is different, western and fast-paced, yet, we have a knack of squeezing in sometime for leisure. Even we understand that college is something special, something so full of fun and laughter, and every single day, we look forward for it. It’s been sometime since we celebrated ethnic day in college, an experience we truly enjoyed. The girls grumbled a little too, because we were forced to perform our Chemistry experiments in saris. But on that day, the teachers had suddenly become kinder, and we grew a little more politer, and coaxed the teachers in such a sweet manner that most of them gave up trying to teach amidst ‘We want a free class!’ drone. So then, having five free classes, the photo sessions began, with every camera trying to capture that perfect picture. I’ve posted some photos of that special day here, along with some photos of the trip to Waynad and Calicut. I did not go to that trip, but I borrowed my friend’s to present it to you. Come, then, I’ll introduce you to class 2 H of Kumarans college—the best there is!

The photo above is of my friends (from left)--Thunga, Pannaga, Shruthi R and Akshatha. This was a photo taken on the trip to Wonder La.

Pannaga, Nishkala, Shruthi and others in the hotel at their stay in Kerala.

This was in Waynad. We have 3 of our lecturers there, if you look closely. Standing left is the Librarain, followed by Mrs. Nagarathna, who takes Physical chemistry. I don't know what is it with chem teachers and trips, but they are the ones who usually accompany us on all our fun trips. Looks like they are having fun, aren't they?

Ah, this is my FAVORITE photograph. This was on our Ethnic day, three months ago. As you can guess, the one in black is obviously me, and standing next to me is my best buddy from college--Thunga. We're the BEST of pals, we go to the same tutions, enjoy same interests, especially music!

The Awesome Fivesome, I would like to call this, and look out, we have some serious brains here. The one in dark blue is the ultimate brain of the class. Her name's Shruthi(there are 2 shruthis in class), and whoa! You'll be wondering what she doesn't know. She's a sticker to the books, and a nice teacher, if you seek her help. She's helpful and yes, a little playful too. The one in the chudidar is Kavya, the maths whiz. Give her any problem, and she won't leave it until she's cracked it. She plans to become an engineer. I can bet my money she'll become more than that. I was saying to her the other day that I seeked her autograph after she grew up!

I can recognize tremendous potentials in each of my freinds. I do not intend to say that I am selective when it comes to making friends, but I'll proudly boast that every induvidual in Kumarans college is special, unique and talanted. Our college is not just about books and studies, it gives us a lot of cultural knowlegde as well, and nurtures our creativity. To the extreme left is Manasa, the singer. She's won comptitions, and yet is so humble, simple and fun-loving. She won't boast, and usually, she's the radio of the class, she burts into a soft song when asked for. Standing next is Navyashree, the talker. She is excellent in conversations, can carry herself beautifully---allow Navya to open her lips and beautifully crafted words, puns, humour slips out so effortlessly and gracefully. The 'red' girl, is Thunga and she's the movie buff. Even before you talk of the movie, she'll say 'Been there, done that!" Actually, she's the one who influenced me to get to know the bollywood world a little better, and thankfully, I'm updated now, no more the old fashioned girl who said "I saw Kaho Na Pyaar Hai on Sony TV".

These are the cool girls of the class, who simply love to take life easy and 'chill out'. And they do just that, every other day. They are what one calls 'the Bindaas girls' in college langauge. You'll find a rich variety of people in college--the easy-goers, the pranksters, the book-worms, the nerds--they all blend in beutifully to integrate and form a team, although their interests are different. It's one of those aspects about life which confuses me. Seen here are Gayathri, Shruthi, Sushmitha, Anusha, and Shalini.

If you think unity is just confined to only our class, you'r wrong. We interact, we love to talk. Seperate sections don't seperate us. We're one college, and we usually buzz around other classrooms too, to catch a quick chat with pals. Seen in this photo are my classmates Shurthi, Pannaga and Nishkala with other class girls.

This is my classroom folks! This is how we sit, two in a row. Usually, one is uncomfortable in the front rows, but these girls love it. They were actually the ones who convinced me that being front is being ahead. You know the sort of logicians they are, they argued quite remarkably, and I was bound to agree with their logic, and moved up front.
This was on ethnic day, and thankfully, the first photo which actually came out right in Manasa's camera. The poor girl was trying so hard to get just the right snap. Oh! Lots to tell about Hemavathi, the pink one next to me. We fondly call her Hema. Hema's one bag of surprises, and behind that innocent face is steadfast determination. She's a hard-worker, gentle soul who is committed to anything she takes up. Like if she wants to understand Physics, she concentrates until she understands it perfectly right. Conceptually, she's bright. One has a lot to learn from her. She is really very helpful, even willing to sacrifice her free time for you. A gem of a person to come by, really. Just because someone asked her to buy a book for them, she boarded a bus from Thyagarajanagar and waited for 2 hours to get it for them! Noble? Indeed!

The below photos do not require explanations, they are random photos taken in haste. These are the class girls. Charming, aren't we?

We're all smiles, here! That's me and Manasa!

A note on the super-brainy of my class: They are keenly competitive. I wouln't say ruthlessly cunning, but they are addicted to competition. Usually, the fight's between Shruthi (remember the brainy girl in blue?) with Virendra. They try to outdo each other everytime. It's a bit fun to watch. They burn the midnight oil, just to get one more mark than the other person. We usually cheer Shruthi, because she's a girl, but usally, Virendra races everyone else in class!
