Birth Name: Jayaram Subramaniyam Jayaram is a film actor in Malayalam and Tamil languages. He is also a mimicry artist. He is one of the reigning superstars in Malayalam cinema. Jayaram has been active in films since the 1980s. He is quite widely appreciated for his easiness in handling comedy , being the hero of the film. There was some criticism towards him being stereotyped in comic roles. Jayaram despite the criticism has managed to hold on to the top list of Malayalam film actors.
He had plenty of flops in the last 8 years,but he had continous hits in early stages of his career to 2001. He acted in many super hit family comedy entertainers which had decent comedy without any double meanings or crude comedy which is a trade mark of malayalam cinema. It was highly appreciated by family audiences and made him a family hero. He and director Rajasenan delivered 13 super maga hit films which ran for more than 100 days.
